Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in an Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. Later, she would become Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in where she placed 13th in the year 1969. In the year 1970, she was crowned champion. At her first international event in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was overall junior champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medal. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer during her teenage years. She began her professional career by performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performance.
